Andrea Mauro is a musician who resides in the Kitcheber-Waterloo area. She has formal training on piano, flute, and voice through the Royal Conservatory of music, Wilfred Laurier University, and with several private music instructors. Andrea has been performing the area and beyond since 2001, participating in local arts festivals and events, hosting solo classical concerts, touring with rock-pop indie bands, busking at markets, to name a few.
Being a full time music teacher for 16 years, she has helped students achieve their goals in areas such as RCM exams, Kiwanis Music Festival competitions, organizing group and solo shows, hosting open mic nights, making audio recordings, and fostering the love of music in students of all ages.
Andrea is a goal oriented teacher who takes the time to set reasonable and achievable goals with students on an individual level.
Her flexibility with styles of music, ranging from classical composed music to pop and original composition, assist her in facilitating a broad range of students from the casual learners to those preparing for University and College.
Her students regularly receive awards from schools, Kiwanis Festivals, and have had students receive highest marks in Ontario for RCM examinations.
After owning and operating her own teaching studio for eight years, she is joining forces with Queen Street Music School, excited to call this her new musical home.
Andrea continues to study music in a variety of ways, as she believes music is a lifetime commitment of learning and discovery. She is currently performing, working on compositions and recordings.
