Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

When can I start lessons?

In most cases, lessons can start as early as the day after registration.

When do you offer lessons?

Private Lessons are available Monday – Friday 9AM – 9PM & Saturday 9AM – 2PM. You can see what’s currently available on the registration page.

Are lessons one-on-one or in a group?

Our Private Lessons are one-on-one sessions between the student and the instructor. Certain programs, like our Musical Safari Programs and the Musical Theatre Program, have multiple students in the same class.

What ages do you work with?

We work with students of all ages! We have our Musical Safari program for students aged 0-4, and private lessons for students ages 4-100+.

How often are the lessons/programs?

Private Lessons and Group Programs are held on a weekly basis. We do not operate on holidays/holiday weeks, and these dates are not included in the fees.

How long is each lesson?

Private Lessons start at 30 minutes long. Most new students will start with this length.

Most Group Programs are also 30 minutes long. Certain programs for older students, such as the QSM Band, will run longer.

Do you offer a trial lesson or two?

It takes most students 4-5 lessons to decide whether or not they want to continue.

We offer the opportunity for monthly payments, or a one-time annual payment.

Because of this arrangement, you may cancel after the first month if you don’t feel things are working out. We do not offer trial lessons.

We ask that you register only if you intend to take lessons for the entire school year, for the sake of the student’s development and respecting the instructor’s time.

At what age can my child start taking private lessons?

Most students may begin private lessons on the piano, ukulele, or drums at age 5. In certain cases, children further along in their development may start before then.

For those under the age of 5, we have our fun Musical Safari Program – a group music program which immerses the child in music and prepares them for private lessons!

Are your lessons in-person or online?

We offer lessons in-person, online, and even offer lessons at your home. See the following questions for details about at-home lessons.

Do you offer at-home lessons, where the instructor comes to my home?

Yes, we do. Learn more and get a quote on the registration page.

How much are lessons?

You can see our most up-to-date pricing on the registration page.

Where are you located?

Yes! We offer a selection of instruments which are either rent-to-own or for sale. Rentals start at just $30 per month +HST. You may also buy the instrument outright from our store page. Please contact us if you are interested in renting an instrument.

Do you offer any discounts?
