Emily Rose Postma teaches voice and piano at Queen Street Music.
Emily was born and raised here in Cambridge, where she began taking piano lessons at the age of 4. She attended Jacob Hespeler Secondary School, where she was a valuable member and leader of the jazz band, concert band, percussion ensemble, and more. She enjoyed learning a variety of percussion instruments, and the alto saxophone, as well as guitar. This is when she began performing, both as an ensemble, and solo, accompanying herself on piano and guitar. Since then Emily has enjoyed performing in local music festivals.
Emily has completed her grade 9 Royal Conservatory of Music exam for piano, and continues to upgrade her skills. Emily is proud to have several young students successfully complete their elementary RCM exams as well. She continues to challenge herself musically, creatively, and mentally. In 2015 Emily took on the new challenge of learning Mandarin Chinese.
Emily has been teaching at Queen Street Music School since 2011, and enjoys seeing the progress of her students and the happiness that music brings them!
